I am an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of African American Studies and The Program for Leadership and Character at Wake Forest University. My research concerns questions of race and democratic theory, and asks what it has meant (and would mean) to live democratic lives in undemocratic times. My work has been published in Theory & Event and American Political Thought. I am currently at work on a book project, tentatively titled, Invisible Public: Voice and Impasse in African American Democratic Thought. I teach courses in Black studies, political theory, and U.S. racial politics.
